1. Replace brush
 
  (1) Cut the brush lead wire at the connecting position to the starter yoke side.
 
(2) Reshape the soldering surface of the starter yoke with a file or sandpaper.
 
(3) Install a new brush with plate on the starter yoke, and crimp in place.
 
(4) Solder the new brush to the attached area.
