Reassembly

Adjust Valve Clearance

1. Measure valve clearance
 
2. Remove out-of-spec shims (lifters)
 
3. Measure thicknesses of shims (lifters)
 
  4. Select shim (lifter)
  Calculate with the measured valve clearance (A) and the thickness of used shim (lifter) (T) to select the thickness of new shim (lifter).
 
  5. Install selected shim (lifter)
 
  6. Measure valve clearance again
 
HINT:
Adjust again if the valve clearance does not satisfy the specified value.
