Hold-in test
(1)
Disconnect test lead A from terminal C with the pinion gear extended, after the pull-in test.
(2)
Check to ensure the pinion gear remains extended.
HINT:
•
Disconnecting test lead A, from terminal C cuts off the current into the pull-in coil and makes the current flow only into the hold-in coil.
•
If the pinion gear retracts, replace the magnet starter switch assembly.
