3. Stator
(1) The stator generates three-phase alternating current by the changing magnetic flux caused by the rotor turning. The stator consists of the stator core and the stator coils and is built into the drive end frame as a unit

Winding of stator coils
The stator coil consists of three pairs of coils. The point where the three ends meet is called the neutral point.
(2) As the stator generates much more heat than the other components in the alternator, the heat generated by the stator is primarily transferred into the drive end frame.
