Air Circulation Control

1. Natural flow-through ventilator
The intake of external air into the vehicle's interior due to the air pressure generated by the vehicle's movement is called natural flow-through ventilation. The distribution of air pressure outside a vehicle as it moves is shown in the illustration, with positive pressure generated in some areas and negative pressure generated in other areas. Thus the intake vents are located in those areas where the air pressure is positive and the exhaust vents are located in areas where the air pressure is negative.
2. Forced air ventilator (boost ventilator)
In the forced air ventilation system, an electric fan is used to force air through the vehicle. The same air intake vents and exhaust vents are used as the vents in the natural flow-through ventilation system. Ordinarily, the forced air type of ventilation is used together with the heater or A/C system.
