Function of shift detent ball
|
| When shifting gears, a spring pushes
the detent ball into the groove on the shift fork shaft. This assists in maintaining
correct gear-shift positioning while preventing jumping out of gear, and leads
to a feeling of restraint when shifting. |
| |
| Function of lock ball assembly |
| Prevents the reverse idler gear from
moving when the transmission is not shifted into reverse. |
