Removal

Drain Coolant

1. Drain coolant
(1)
Cover the radiator cap with a cloth so that the coolant does not spray out.
(2)
Loosen the radiator cap by rotating it about 45 degrees to release the internal pressure of the radiator.
(3)
Rotate the radiator cap 45 degrees further to remove it.
(4) Place coolant receiving pans under the drain plugs of the radiator and engine block.
HINT:
The positions of the drain plugs vary from model to model. Refer to the Repair Manual.
   
(5)
Drain the coolant by loosening the drain plug of the radiator first and then that of the engine block.
