Valve lapping |
| (1) |
After valve correction is completed using the
seat cutter, coat the valve seat with the compound. |
| (2) |
Mount the valve in a hand lapper and bring the
valve into contact with the seat. |
| NOTICE: |
| Do not continue to rotate the valve while it remains pressed against the valve seat. Lift the lapping tool and repeat the process of rotating the lapping tool and allowing the lapping tool and valve to move downwards and contact the valve seat. |

After the work in (2) is completed, remove the
compound from the valve and the valve seat. |

Check |
| Recheck that the valve
is in proper contact with the valve seat. |
