Reassembly.

Install Starter Brush Spring

1. Install starter armature assembly on starter yoke
 
2. Install starter brush spring
 
  (1) Hold the shaft of the armature in a vise wedged between aluminium plates or a cloth.
 
(2) Install the brush holder insulator.
 
(3) Install the spring on brush holder insulator.
 
(4) While compressing the spring, mount the brush on the brush holder insulator.
NOTICE:
  • While installing the brush take care that the spring does not jump out.
  • Using a screwdriver will make compressing the spring easier. Wind tape around the tip of the screwdriver.
 
(5) Install plate.
