1. Remove starter brush spring
 
(1) Hold the shaft of the armature in a vise wedged between aluminium plates or a cloth.
  (2) Disengage the claws and remove the plate.
Release the claws with your fingers to remove the plate.
NOTICE:
Remove the plate gradually or the brush springs may fly out.
