Pulley with One-Way Clutch
Construction:
Some engines use a pulley that has a one-way clutch function. The one-way clutch incorporates a number of sprags and springs arranged around the pulley circumference between the outer ring and inner ring, enabling the one-way clutch function to be achieved. This function can absorb the small changes that occur in the engine speed while transmitting power only in the direction of engine rotation. As a result, the load applied to the V-ribbed belt is reduced |
