Make sure the shifting keys and synchronizer
ring key grooves are aligned. |
(5)
Using SST and hammer, press in the clutch hub.
| |
NOTICE:
When pressing the clutch hub in, place a suitably-sized wooden
block under the input shaft to slightly elevate the shaft in order to eliminate
the load on the input shaft bearing. |
HINT:
•
Make sure that the shifting keys (on the clutch
hub side) are aligned with the key grooves (on the synchronizer ring side).
•
Striking the clutch hub too hard with the hammer
may cause the hub to fit in a diagonal rather than flat position. If this occurs,
check the spline setting again and reset the clutch hub correctly.
•
Press the clutch hub in until it
comes in contact with the 5th gear. |
| |
(6)
Check that each gear rotates smoothly after
pressing in the clutch hub.
