Measure clearance between hub sleeve and the shift
fork
|

To calculate the clearance between the hub sleeve
and the shift fork, use vernier calipers to measure the width of the hub sleeve
(A) and the thickness of the shift fork (B) over several locations.

| Clearance (C) = (A) - (B) |

HINT:
When the clearance value is exceeded, the gears will not
engage smoothly because stroke is insufficient. |
