Align the camshaft knock pin position
while turning the camshaft timing gear counterclockwise. Turning the camshaft
timing gear clockwise when no oil pressure is applied will cause the lock pin
to lock when the most retarded position is reached.

Tighten the flange bolt.
(2)
Turn the timing gear clockwise to make sure that the gear locks.
NOTICE:
If the camshaft timing gear mounting bolts are tightened while the lock pin is locked,
horizontal force applied to the lock pin could damage it.
