Types of damper operation
| (1) |
Wire cable type
| This type of design operates via a direct mechanical link between the selector control switch and each damper. While the construction is simple the selector operation will become difficult if the wire cables are faulty or damaged or the routing of the cables are incorrectly positioned. |
| (2) |
Motor type
| This type of design operates each damper via a small DC electric motor to achieve the desired position based on the push button switch selected by the operator. As the design uses electric motors, the construction is more complicated than the wire cable type. However, the effort required to operate the controls is reduced and this makes the overall operation easier. |
