Check air tightness |
| After the vacuum pump has been turned off, leave the system for 5 minutes with both the high and low-pressure valves closed. Confirm that the manifold gauge indicator reading has not changed since the pump was turned off. |

| HINT: |
| If the pressure increases (vacuum is lost), air has entered the A/C system. This leak requires detection and correction before repeating the vacuum procedure. |

| NOTICE: |
| If the level of vacuum pressure is not achieved and maintained, the moisture left inside the air-conditioner system may freeze and prevent the refrigerant from circulating, or cause corrosion inside the A/C system. |
