Removal

Propeller Shaft (FR Models)

Differential
Companion flange
Propeller shaft

Centre bearing
 
Remove propeller shaft
(1)
Make matchmarks on the propeller shaft and differential.
 
(2)
Remove the bolts and nuts from the companion flange and centre bearing.
(3)
Use a plastic hammer to tap on the joints to release the engagement and then remove the propeller shaft.
 
NOTICE:
If the propeller shaft installation position is offset when installed, it will cause abnormal sound and vibration.
HINT:
Removing the propeller shaft requires two people.
When removing the propeller shaft with a centre bearing, make matchmarks for those positions before removal. Using the wrong spacer positions during installation could cause vibration.
